Baroness drummer Allen Blickle has died suddenly aged 42, his bandmates confirmed on Monday.<\/p>\n

The band released a heartbreaking statement on social media to announce that Allen had passed away ‘a few days ago’. His cause of death remains unknown.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Frontman John Baizley heartbreakingly wrote: ‘It breaks my heart to have to share the news that my dear friend, creative partner and former bandmate Allen Blickle passed away a few days ago.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘I\u2019m still in shock that he\u2019s gone. We ask for understanding as his family and this band process his passing and grieve his loss. Allen, I love you and miss you.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘I treasure every moment we shared.’<\/p>\n

Kylesa star Laura Pleasants penned a heartfelt message on her Instagram and said she’s glad Allen is ‘no longer in pain’.<\/p>\n

She wrote: ‘Dear Allen… I was so heartbroken when talking w Joe and Summer the other day; finding out how the past month was. I am just gutted, dude.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘We all thought you had this thing beat. F***, we were supposed to hang out when i got back from tour. I feel so lucky to have reconnected with you after moving to LA a few years ago.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘Spending time w you out here, playing music, going to shows, hanging at a pool party, rocking the Hell out to FEAR… getting to know you on a deeper lever was a real privilege. You were a REAL one! So talented, so rad.<\/p>\n

‘Gone too soon my friend. I’m glad you are at peace and no longer in pain. Much love to you. RIP Allen Blickle \u2665\ufe0f @ill.pickles’<\/p>\n

Allen formed Baroness in 2003 alongside frontman John, bassist Summer Welch, and guitarist Tim Loose.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Tim left the band in 2003, and was replaced by Allen’s brother Brian, who was later replaced by Pete Adams in 2008.<\/p>\n

The late musician featured on the band’s first three albums Red, Blue and Yellow & Green.<\/p>\n

In 2012, the band were involved in a tour bus<\/a>, resulting in the vehicle falling over 30ft from a viaduct.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In 2012, the band were involved in a tour bus , resulting in the vehicle falling over 30ft from a viaduct (pictured)<\/p>\n

The coach was carrying nine people, including musicians from the band Baroness, when it fell down an embankment.<\/p>\n

The crash happened at the junction of Brassknocker Hill and the A36 Warminster Road in Bath, Somerset.<\/p>\n

It resulted in Allen and then-bassist Matt Maggioni fracturing their vertebrae and leaving the band the following year.<\/p>\n

The band had played a gig in Bristol and were en route to the Talking Heads music venue in Southampton when the crash happened.\u00a0<\/p>\n

After hearing the news of Allen’s passing, fans were left devastated as they flooded the band’s tribute with messages.<\/p>\n

Some wrote: ‘One of the kindest people I\u2019ve ever met. Rest in Peace. No one will play disco beats over metal like you did. Tragedy’,<\/p>\n

‘His drumming in the first Baroness recordings is one of my favorite elements of the band, he had an energy dificult to explain, was unique, I also loved his Alpaca project, rest in peace’,<\/p>\n
