Liverpool faced a delay of over three hours for their flight to Frankfurt, with Arne Slot<\/a>\u2018s side avoiding the need to divert to a different airport.<\/p>\n

Liverpool were due to fly to Frankfurt late on Tuesday afternoon, but technical issues with the aircraft caused a delay of over three hours at John Lennon Airport.<\/p>\n

Slot\u2019s press conference in Frankfurt was consequently unable to take place<\/a> as the team were grounded on Merseyside during the scheduled start time. <\/p>\n

As per the Athletic<\/a>\u2018s James Pearce, Liverpool were given the green light to depart for Frankfurt just over three hours after their scheduled departure time.<\/p>\n

They were facing a looming deadline as Frankfurt\u2019s airport closes for arrivals at 10pm (BST), but a flight time of less than two hours means Liverpool were not diverted or delayed further.<\/p>\n

It is not ideal preparation on the eve of the Champions League<\/a> fixture, but a 22-man squad were put through their paces earlier in the afternoon at the AXA Training Centre.<\/p>\n

Ryan Gravenberch<\/a> was the only new absentee after he twisted his ankle over the weekend and he has not been named in the 21-man travelling squad<\/a> for the match.<\/p>\n

Wataru Endo<\/a>, meanwhile, has travelled after returning to training following a hamstring issue, with no surprises from Slot, unlike last time when Federico Chiesa<\/a> was left out.<\/p>\n

The Italian trained as normal, and after playing a role in another Liverpool goal against Man United<\/a>, the calls for a starting berth continue to grow louder.<\/p>\n
