He was also awarded <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irishmirror.ie\/sport\/gaa\/hurling\/hurling-news\/declan-hannon-opens-up-losing-35025922\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">an All-Star on three occasions<\/a> as a half-back.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"irishmirror\">&#8220;It has been one of the greatest honours of my life to wear the Limerick jersey,&#8221; he said in a statement confirming his retirement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"irishmirror\">&#8220;To represent my county, and share the highest of highs with people I love. Hurling has been a major part of my life since I was a child. I will never forget returning home to the village in 2018.
