\u201cIt was an amazing experience; I would do it again,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe decorated pumpkins, then worked out who was doing each role.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cI was a policewoman. I dressed up in a uniform with handcuffs and a baton. I got locked in the log jail.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m looking forward to going to the book launch.\u201d<\/p>\n
Jess Adler, from Wimmera Southern Mallee Development, will launch the book at an afternoon that will also feature sporting and craft activities for children from 1pm to 3pm.<\/p>\n
Attendees will also be offered the chance to win a prize for any afternoon tea food they bring made with pumpkin as a key ingredient or theme.<\/p>\n
Organiser Kate Eats, from We\u2019re Better Together Partnership, encouraged people to support the project and buy the locally-themed and created book.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis book was one of many activities our partnership ran over a busy six weeks from June to July and features many familiar faces and places,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are looking forward to seeing what local cooks can create with pumpkins and share with the community for afternoon tea, and will award prizes on the day for sweet, savoury and junior sections.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are also encouraging everyone to dress with a \u2018touch of orange\u2019. It might be as simple as a scarf or ribbon or a whole orange outfit \u2013 the choice is yours.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll people involved in the book\u2019s creation will receive a free copy and the rest of the community is encouraged to buy a copy on the day with proceeds going to future We\u2019re Better Together events.\u201d<\/p>\n
Cash sales only will be accepted for book sales as EFTPOS will not be available.<\/p>\n
Fiona Treliving, from Harrow Neighbourhood House, said the sporting activities, before the book launch,\u00a0would be led by Wimmera Regional Sports Assembly and provide a chance for children to try a range of options.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe sport will run in tandem with some Pumpkins on the Run-themed art and craft activities being held in the pavilion,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
There will also be 30 minutes set aside from 2.30pm for community members to talk to sports assembly staff about sporting needs and ideas for the community.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a great chance to catch up with friends, find out about different sports, be creative and get your hands on a very local book,\u201d Ms Treliving said.<\/p>\n
