Camila Mendes<\/a> has shared an exciting update about the upcoming Masters of the Universe<\/a> movie.<\/p>\n

Travis Knight<\/a> is directing a Masters of the Universe film for Mattel<\/a> and Amazon MGM Studios<\/a>. Due to arrive in theaters next summer, the movie will see Mendes play Teela, while the cast also includes Nicholas Galitzine<\/a> as He-Man, Jared Leto as Skeletor, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Idris Elba as Man-At-Arms, and more.<\/p>\n

What did Camila Mendes say about Masters of the Universe?<\/p>\n

Speaking with Variety<\/a>, Mendes shared some new insights about Masters of the Universe.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had always dreamed of doing a project like that,\u201d she said. \u201cI had always known I wanted to do a superhero movie, at one point. I like to work out, I\u2019m into fitness, and I\u2019m like, \u2018I really want to do something where I get to use that part of myself.\u2019 I really got to do that, here. It was so challenging. I learned so much about my body and about nutrition and fitness. I felt like I was really in my element doing that film. I also just really love the story \u2014 the execution was really strong. It has a sense of humor, but it also isn\u2019t completely one big joke. The tone of it, they just did such a good job with striking that balance. I think people are really going to like it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Regarding Galitzine as He-Man, Mendes said<\/a>, \u201cHe\u2019s such a sweetheart. I\u2019m so excited for people to see him in this movie. It\u2019s really something special. I was lucky enough to see the transformation from the beginning. We were there for two months in London, training every day together. We were in it together the whole time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mendes further said that she had a \u201cfew big stunts\u201d that she got to practice for months, which she describes as a \u201cvery rigorous training process.\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked how many Masters of the Universe movies she\u2019s signed up for, Mendes commented, \u201cThat I cannot say. But, hopefully, there will be more. We\u2019ll see what happens.\u201d<\/p>\n
