Robert Kirkman<\/a>\u2019s Skybound Entertainment<\/a> and Hasbro<\/a> Entertainment have announced that they will be teaming up to make Energon Universe<\/a>, a brand new adult animated series that is based on the comics of the same name. The project is expected to be taken out to buyers in the near future.<\/p>\n

Per Deadline<\/a>, Energon Universe will serve as an \u201cepic crossover\u201d of G.I. Joe, Transformers, and Void Rivals mythology. Joe Henderson<\/a>, who was heavily involved in the Lucifer television series, will serve as showrunner.<\/p>\n

The show is described as being \u201cbroad\u201d and is said to be in \u201cthe vein of Kirkman\u2019s gritty adult animated series\u00a0Invincible<\/a>, based on his comic, which has been a hit for Prime Video, renewed for Season 5 ahead of its Season 4 premiere next March.\u201d<\/p>\n

Deadline\u2019s article further reads, \u201cKirkman, a Transformers and G.I. Joe fan since childhood, won the comic book publishing rights to the signature Hasbro brands in 2021. He went on to create a cohesive shared universe in which Transformers and G.I. Joe co-exist together alongside original IP Void Rivals, which Kirkman co-created with Lorenzo De Felici.<\/p>\n

\u201cTwo years in,\u00a0Energon Universe\u00a0has become one of Hasbro\u2019s bestselling comic book lines ever, with over 7 million combined units sold worldwide.
