{"id":98578,"date":"2025-10-23T05:44:09","date_gmt":"2025-10-23T05:44:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/98578\/"},"modified":"2025-10-23T05:44:09","modified_gmt":"2025-10-23T05:44:09","slug":"ai-adoption-set-to-transform-entry-level-roles-in-finance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/98578\/","title":{"rendered":"AI Adoption Set to Transform Entry-Level Roles in Finance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Efforts to automate entry-level tasks in finance won\u2019t necessarily eliminate entry-level roles, Fortune <a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/news\/sam-altman-openai-coming-wall-100300002.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">reported<\/a> Wednesday (Oct. 22).<\/p>\n<p>Instead, the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) solutions will likely transform those roles, according to the report.<\/p>\n<p>While automation will eliminate much of the work junior analysts now do on spreadsheets, financial models and pitch decks, those analysts will likely be assigned more \u201csophisticated\u201d work like building more complex financial models or performing more quantitative analysis, <a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/shawndubravac\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Shawn DuBravac<\/a>, CEO of <a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/avrioinstitute.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Avrio Institute<\/a>, told Fortune.<\/p>\n<p>Those are skills that junior analysts traditionally learned later in their careers, DuBravac said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI could see headcounts staying mostly flat, but at the same time, workloads will become lighter in some areas and heavier in others,\u201d DuBravac said, per the report.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/ramsrinivasanmit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Ram Srinivasan<\/a>, managing director of consulting at <a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jll.com\/en-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">JLL<\/a>, told Fortune that AI will give analysts \u201csuperpowers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center\">Advertisement: Scroll to Continue<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnalysts become reviewers and customizers rather than builders from scratch, allowing each person to support more deals simultaneously,\u201d Srinivasan said, per the report.<\/p>\n<p>Fortune interviewed these experts for reaction to a Tuesday (Oct. 21) report from Bloomberg that said <a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/openai.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">OpenAI<\/a> is working with former investment bankers to train AI models to handle the industry\u2019s entry-level tasks, according to the report.<\/p>\n<p>According to that Bloomberg <a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2025-10-21\/openai-looks-to-replace-the-drudgery-of-junior-bankers-workload\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">report<\/a>, the company has hired more than 100 former investment bankers from firms like Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan and Morgan Stanley to help its <a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/artificial-intelligence-2\/2025\/openai-turns-to-wall-street-as-ai-training-help\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">AI models<\/a> learn how to build and interpret financial models.<\/p>\n<p>The report said the project is part of OpenAI\u2019s effort to move beyond consumer chatbots and into enterprise use cases that generate steady, high-value revenue.<\/p>\n<p>When PYMNTS looked into \u201cAI\u2019s great jobs debate\u201d in September, it was reported that OpenAI CEO <a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.samaltman.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Sam Altman<\/a> said in May that AI could displace 70% of all jobs. Also during May, <a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.anthropic.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Anthropic<\/a> CEO <a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/dario-amodei-3934934\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Dario Amodei<\/a> said the technology could wipe out half of all <a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/artificial-intelligence-2\/2025\/ais-great-jobs-debate-requires-a-history-lesson\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">entry-level white-collar jobs<\/a> and create unemployment of 10% to 20% within the next one to five years.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.citi.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Citi<\/a> said in June 2024 that 54% of jobs in the <a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/personnel\/2024\/citi-ai-will-impact-finance-sector-job-market-the-most\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">banking sector<\/a> have a higher potential for automation, while another 12% could be augmented by AI.
