Late veteran actor Satish Shah, who passed away at the age of 74 due to kidney failure, left an indelible mark on Indian cinema and television. To honour his legacy, the entertainment industry came together on Monday, October 27, at his prayer meet, held at Jalaram Hall in Juhu, Mumbai. Among the many faces, Satish Shah’s wife, Madhu, was also captured at the prayer meet.
In the video shared by a paparazzo, Madhu is seen entering the venue and climbing up the stairs with the help of her close ones.
The evening also saw prominent figures, friends and colleagues from showbiz who gathered to pay their final tributes. Their presence reflected the deep love and respect the Main Hoon Na actor earned throughout his life.
Celebrities Arrive At Satish Shah’s Prayer Meet
The solemn event saw leading filmmakers, actors and television personalities, including Rakesh Roshan, David Dhawan, Rupali Ganguly, and Shatrughan Sinha, who arrived to offer condolences.
Johny Lever, Poonam Dhillon, Bhuvan Bam, JD Majethia, Padmini Kolhapure and Sumeet Raghavan, who had worked with Satish Shah in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, also made their way to the prayer meet.
Sonu Nigam Performs Tere Mere Sapne
At the prayer meet, Sonu Nigam paid a heartfelt tribute by performing the timeless melody Tere Mere Sapne. The singer performed his rendition of Mohammed Rafi’s classic song and also encouraged Satish Shah’s wife, Madhu, to join him in singing a few lines.
In the clip doing rounds online, Madhu was seen softly humming along and joining the singer in honouring her late husband.

In a career spanning over four decades, Satish Shah appeared in more than 250 films, showcasing his remarkable versatility across genres. From iconic television to blockbuster films, his humour and contribution to the Indian entertainment industry remain unparalleled. The veteran actor skyrocketed to fame with his memorable performance as Municipal Commissioner D’Mello in Kundan Shah’s 1983 cult classic Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro.
Then, he went on to deliver notable performances in films such as Bhoothnath, Shakti, Hum Saath Saath Hain, Main Hoon Na, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Fanaa, and Om Shanti Om, among others. On television, his portrayal of Indravadan Sarabhai in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai remains one of the most iconic and beloved comedic roles in Indian television.
