The ABC has gone backwards on nearly all of its annual performance metrics, with several targets also unmet, according to its recently published annual report for 2025. These metrics and targets cover areas such as whether the broadcaster is accurate and impartial, is valued for services to the community, and if it is meeting diversity quotas.
The percentage of people who believe the ABC is the best or a good source for high-quality programming compared to competitors has dropped 1% for both video and audio, to 84% and 79% respectively, while those who believe the ABC is the best or as good as other outlets in covering regional Australia has dropped to 67%, down 3% on last year.
