Eleven New Jersey medical centers have made America’s Best-in-State Hospitals 2026 list by Newsweek and Statista.
The list ranks 800 of the nation’s top hospitals at the state level in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
The ranking is based on multiple data sources, including health equity metrics from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and staffing indicators from the American Hospital Association’s Annual Survey of Hospitals Database. It also takes into account recommendations collected through a nationwide survey of medical professionals, as well as patient experience.
This year’s ranking also included a stronger focus on care quality and patient-reported outcomes. As a result, the ranking has been broadened from the top 700 in-state hospitals in 2025 to 800 in 2026.
