Bangladesh’s inflation rate declined slightly in October, easing to 8.17% from 8.36 % in September, according to data released today (5 November) by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS).
In the same month a year earlier, inflation had stood significantly higher at 10.87%.

The food inflation rate dropped modestly to 7.08% in October from 7.64% in September, reflecting a slight easing in food prices.Â

However, non-food inflation edged up to 9.13%, compared to 8.98% in the previous month.
In October last year, food inflation was much higher at 12.66%, while non-food inflation was 9.34%, indicating an overall cooling trend in prices over the past year.
