On Wednesday night, Classic Driver and Gestalten celebrated the release of the all-new book ‘Drive Different — Restomods and Iconic Automobiles Reimagined’ at VOR Shoes in Munich.

Created by gestalten and Classic Driver, Drive Different is a visually captivating exploration of the art and craft behind these custom builds. Through a curated selection of groundbreaking restomods, the book celebrates the delicate balance between restoration and reinvention — where heritage is honored and evolution embraced.

Despite the rain (and potential racing fume hangover from Marks & Cars), car and design enthusiasts from Munich and abroad gathered for the casual release event of ‘Drive Different’ at VOR’s shop and studio space in the heart of the city, chatting about contemporary car culture with the book’s co-creator Jan Baedeker over light aperitivos and bringing along some very unusual and different automobiles — including a Porsche TAG Turbo powered by a 1980s F1 engine and one of only five Ferrari Berlinetta Lussos custom-made by Carrozzeria Touring. And we were even joined by some of the creators of the cars featured in the book, among them Bertone designer Andrea Mocellin and Rafael Soares, the father of the Alma Sprint from Portugal.

For automotive enthusiasts, designers, and those who appreciate the blend of history and cutting-edge technology, Drive Different is the ultimate resource on the culture, craftsmanship, and engineering mastery shaping the future of classic cars. You can order your copy in the CD Shop.

We would like to thank everyone who came by, joined us for a drink and picked up a copy of our book. Special thanks go out to our friends at Gestalten, Vor Shoes and Weekend Heroes for celebrating this book launch with us and to Zero Labs for providing us with their delicious, driver-friendly alcohol-free beer.
