Princess Beatrice and Prince Edward were appointed to new roles at Outward Bound, a charity which helps young people experience the outdoors.Prince Philip was previously the patron of the nonprofit before his death in 2019.The news comes amid Beatrice’s father’s ongoing fall from grace.
Princess Beatrice is stepping up to helm another charity with her uncle, Prince Edward, just days after her father was officially stripped of his remaining titles and privileges. As of Thursday, November 6, Beatrice and Edward will serve, respectively, as Deputy Patron and Lead Patron of Outward Bound, which helps young people experience the outdoors.

In addition to his new title of Lead Patron, Prince Edward will also become the official Royal Patron of the nonprofit, a role that was previously held by his father, Prince Philip, until his death in 2019.

“With The Duke of Edinburgh and Princess Beatrice working alongside us, we’re embarking on a new chapter,” the organization’s Chief Executive Martin Davidson said in a statement, per People. “One where every young person has the chance to test their limits, build confidence and discover that anything is possible. Their support reflects a shared belief that adventure changes lives.”
The news comes on the heels of more trouble for Beatrice’s father (and Edward’s brother). Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, formerly known as Prince Andrew, Duke of York, was dealt another blow by his brother, King Charles, when he took away the title of “prince” on Thursday, October 30.
“His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew,” a statement from the palace read. “Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.”

Andrew’s long-awaited eviction from Royal Lodge will also be taking place in the coming weeks as he makes arrangements to relocate to a private property on the Sandringham Estate. As for his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson? The former duchess is reportedly moving elsewhere and hopes to “forge an independent life.”
