Hawkeye fans have something to look forward to when one of the MCU’s most highly anticipated projects drops in early 2026. Tony Dalton recently confirmed he’ll be reprising his role as Swordsman in Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again.
Speaking with ComicBookMovie.com’s Josh Wilding, Dalton confirmed that he’d be back for new episodes of Daredevil: Born Again, all while revealing some of the intense action scenes fans can expect from him. “Actually, when you were asking me about [his latest movie, Trap House’s] action sequences, that’s exactly what I was thinking about in my mind,” Dalton teased. “I did a bunch of action stuff for this next one that’s coming out of Daredevil, and man, I got hurt. I got hurt hard… I think I must have chipped a rib or something because for two or three weeks I was in bed. I had bruises all over me.”
Dalton previously portrayed Jack Duquesne / Swordsman in the first season of Hawkeye. He reprised the role in three episodes of Daredevil: Born Again’s first season, including the ninth and final episode — meaning fans might not be waiting too long to see Dalton’s return when Season 2 drops on March 4, 2026.
Dalton’s character is a wealthy socialite and skilled swordsman who becomes engaged to Eleanor Bishop (Kate Bishop’s mother.) In the MCU, the Swordsman has most recently found himself in hot water with the Anti-Vigilante Task Force — Wilson Fisk‘s taxpayer-funded initiative to end vigilantism in New York City. It remains to be seen where Daredevil: Born Again will take his character’s story following his recent imprisonment — but he could be set up for big things when new episodes roll around.
The first season of Daredevil: Born Again premiered on Disney+ on March 4, 2025, as part of Phase Five of the MCU. A revival and direct continuation of Netflix’s Daredevil series that ran from 2015-2018, Born Again sees Charlie Cox reprising his role as Matt Murdock with Vincent D’Onofrio starring opposite as the villainous Wilson Fisk / Kingpin. The first season was released to largely positive reviews, and a third season is currently in development with a planned release in 2027.

While characters from Hawkeye’s realm of the MCU are getting the chance to branch out and be involved in other MCU projects, fans shouldn’t be holding their breath for a continuation of Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld’s 2021 miniseries, which was released in Phase Four of the MCU.
Despite positive reviews and fan interest, Renner recently revealed that he turned down the chance to appear in a second season of Hawkeye. In July, he claimed that he was offered half the amount of money he was given for his performance in the first season. Still, he doesn’t seem entirely opposed to the idea, saying, “I’m happy to do season two of Hawkeye. I love that character. […] The timing of that will come, and if there’s still a need, want, and desire for it, then yeah.”
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 arrives on Disney+ on March 4, 2026.
