An airport in Iwate Prefecture, northeastern Japan, has reopened its runway after briefly halting flights because a bear had wandered onto the grounds.
The animal was reportedly spotted in an area near the tarmac at Iwate Hanamaki Airport shortly after 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Incoming and outgoing flights resumed at 2:30 p.m. after airport officials confirmed there was no longer any threat to safety.
