Welcome to the Gold Ticket, your VIP guide to the best of pop culture for the weekend ahead, curated by the Gold Derby team of experts.

“Dream as One” from Avatar: Fire and Ash: James Cameron deserves a lot of credit for many aspects of his filmmaking, but can we take a moment to appreciate this man fighting tooth and nail to keep the end-credits ballad alive? First there was a Leona Lewis track, then the Weeknd sang on the Way of Water track. Cameron has never failed to keep the tradition of “My Heart Will Go On” alive, and he’s done it again with “Dream as One,” the Miley Cyrus cut for the upcoming Avatar: Fire and Ash. We appreciate you, Jim.
One Battle After Another on VOD: You know which movie gets even better on a second viewing? Paul Thomas Anderson’s pretty-much-perfect action comedy One Battle After Another! The awards favorite is now on VOD, so if you didn’t buy a second ticket when it was in theaters (which it still is, by the way), you can appreciate the modern masterpiece at home and watch how smoothly each scene transitions into the next while cueing up the Martin Scorsese “Cinema” meme.
Nouvelle Vague on Netflix: Richard Linklater’s love letter to Jean-Luc Godard and the French New Wave is streaming on Netflix, but the movie it’s about — Breathless — is streaming on HBO Max and the Criterion Channel. Doesn’t it sort of feel like someone should have thought about that before and maybe figured out how to get it all in one place? Anyway, hopefully you have multiple streaming subscriptions.
Kiss of the Spider Woman on VOD: It’s great when people sing and dance in a movie, and Bill Condon’s film adaptation of the stage musical adaptation of the feature film adaptation of a novel certainly has that. It also has Diego Luna, and I don’t really know what else you can ask of a movie.
