Solo Leveling Season 3 is once again a no-show at another major anime event. Despite a 3.5-hour-long live stream, in which commenters repeatedly appeared to be expecting an announcement for either Season 3 or even a new movie, Aniplex Online Fest 2025 failed to deliver what Solo Leveling fans were hoping for.
While many fans were excited for what Aniplex Online Fest 2025 might have to offer, with a long list of high-profile franchises advertised for the program — such as Madoka Magica, Fate/stay Fake and The Irregular at Magic High School — Solo Leveling was not among them, and numerous fans still waiting for any surprise announcements were left disappointed. This was also the last major event of the year at which Solo Leveling Season 3 news could have likely eventuated, leaving fans in the dark about the future of the anime series for what may be several months more to come. Nonetheless, Netmarble, the developer of Solo Leveling: Arise, recently made a significant investment of two billion won (approximately US$1.45 million) into Solo Leveling’s animation production committee. A live-action Netflix series is also in development, with the roles of Sung Jinwoo and Cha Hae-in already cast.

Ever since Solo Leveling premiered on Crunchyroll on Jan. 7, 2024, the action anime series based on Chugong’s web novel has become a worldwide phenomenon. In mid-June, Sony confirmed Solo Leveling as the most viewed anime of all time. The anime series also took home nine awards — including the coveted Anime of the Year — at the 2025 Crunchyroll Anime Awards. Among the many awards, English voice actor Aleks Le won Best English Voice Artist Performance. Sung Jinwoo himself won Best Main Character at the Anime Awards.
Despite these impressive accolades, an official announcement of a new Solo Leveling anime project has been kept hush-hush by the anime production staff. Even Le tried to temper fan expectations as to when Solo Leveling Season 3 would premiere, while also teasing that it’s not a matter of if, but when. “If I say anything, the snipers will come for me,” Le joked in a recent interview with CBR. Additionally, the Solo Leveling staff at A-1 Pictures always assured fans that Jinwoo’s story would be fully told.
In addition to the Crunchyroll anime and the upcoming live-action Netflix series, Solo Leveling is receiving two new video game releases by the developers of Solo Leveling: Arise. Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive will be released on PC via Steam on Nov. 17, 2025, while the Xbox and PlayStation versions will be released in 2026. Another action role-playing game, Solo Leveling: Karma, is also in development and will feature an original storyline.
“They say whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, but that’s not the case for the world’s weakest hunter, Sung Jinwoo,” the official series description reads. “After being brutally slaughtered by monsters in a high-ranking dungeon, Jinwoo came back with the System, a program only he could see, that’s leveling him up in every way. Now, he’s inspired to discover the secrets behind his powers and the dungeon that spawned them.”
Solo Leveling Seasons 1-2 are available to stream exclusively on Crunchyroll for North American viewers. Yen Press is the English distributor of the manga. The South Korean webtoon originated from KakaoPage.
