Apple TV has set the release date for David E. Kelley’s Margo’s Got Money Troubles series adaptation based on the book by Rufi Thorpe. The show will premiere with three episodes on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
The show will star Elle Fanning in the titular role of Margo, recent college dropout and aspiring writer as well as daughter of an ex-Hooter’s waitress (Michelle Pfeiffer) and former professional wrestler (Nick Offerman). Forced to make her own way with her newborn baby and an increasing pile of bills without income to pay them, Margo has to get creative to make some money fast. In the novel, luckily, her father shows up on her doorstep just in time.
The cast is also led by Thaddea Graham and Nicole Kidman, who serves as executive producer. Still more of the cast includes Oscar winner Marcia Gay Harden, Oscar and Emmy Award-winner Greg Kinnear, Michael Angarano, Rico Nasty and Lindsey Normington.
Margo’s Got Money Troubles is produced for Apple TV by A24. David E. Kelley serves as showrunner and writer, and executive produces alongside Elle Fanning, Dakota Fanning and Brittany Kahan Ward for Lewellen Pictures; Nicole Kidman and Per Saari of Blossom Films; and Matthew Tinker for David E. Kelley Productions. Star Pfeiffer, author Thorpe, Eva Anderson and Boo Killebrew also executive produce. BAFTA and Emmy Award-winner Dearbhla Walsh directs the pilot and serves as an executive producer. Additional directors include Kate Herron and Alice Seabright.
The series marks the most recent collaboration between Kelley and Apple TV, following the Emmy Award-nominated hit drama, Presumed Innocent, which is now in production on its second season.
