For Ranveer Singh, Dhurandhar was a decisive film and thankfully, it has paid off big time. The actor underplayed his character beautifully while in the last 20 minutes, he went on another level, especially during the action scenes. We spoke to trade experts who hailed him and his performance.

Distributor and exhibitor Raj Bansal said, “He has done a good job. His last few films didn’t do well. That was one of the reasons why Dhurandhar didn’t open as big as it should have. But now, it is running very successfully and it’ll run in a big way. He’ll get a lot of films for sure.”
Trade analyst Atul Mohan opined, “Whenever Ranveer Singh is entrusted with a challenging role, he always comes up with flying colours. This is a much-deserved solo hit for him.”
Girish Johar, producer and eminent film business analyst, added, “He’s a full-blown star and delivered another thunderous performance at the box office. He had his underperforming films like Jayeshbhai Jordaar (2022) and Cirkus (2022), but I think with the Dhurandhar series, he’s in the top league for sure.”
Vishek Chauhan, owner of Roopbani Cinema in Purnia, Bihar, explained, “We always knew that Ranveer Singh is a talented guy. But my only complaint with him and most of the Bollywood guys is that they don’t do enough commercial, mass cinema. He got great results with Simmba (2018) and it is still his biggest solo hit. He was fantastic in it, but the problem with him was that he did one such film and disappeared from the mass cinema space. The reason that Dhurandhar took a slow start is because that the audience didn’t stand by him, at least on the first day. Hopefully, with Dhurandhar, the mass audience will support him.”
He added, “The mass audience blindly trusts Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. If Ranveer Singh and other young actors want to be stars, they should focus on Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, etc. Today, Allu Arjun and Prabhas are bigger stars in these places.”
Trade veteran Taran Adarsh commented, “I used to wonder, after the 3 Khans, who is next? But after watching Animal and Dhurandhar, I feel there’s hope. Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh are very fine actors. Kartik Aaryan is also getting better with every film and getting those numbers.”
He’s also happy with the feedback generated by the film, “Look at the love pouring for it on the internet. It’s unbelievable. It has silenced all the naysayers, all the pessimists who spoke against the film before its release. The Dhurandhar team is having the final laugh (smiles).”
