Ferdinand Alexander Porsche would have just celebrated his 90th birthday and his (literal) parent company is honoring the occasion with a special limited edition 911 GT3.
F.A., as he was known, to distinguish him from his founding grandfather, teamed up with brother Hans-Peter to form Porsche Design in 1972, creating accessories and brand extensions from watches, luggage, and sunglasses to, er, refrigerators. They were also responsible for the 901/991, the 804 Formula 1 car, and the 904 Carrera GTS.
During the 1980s F.A. drove a G-Series 911 that has now become the blueprint for 90 911 GT3 90 F.A. editions, priced at $387,000 apiece.

Based on the GT3 with Touring Package, the car is offered with unique F.A. Greenmetallic, inspired by F.A.’s Oakgreenmetallic 911, but with a modern twist from Porsche’s Paint to Sample Plus boffins. Sport Classic center lock rims reminiscent of Fuchs wheels are painted in satin-gloss black, and a gold galvanized badge sits on the engine cover.
The interior, meanwhile, is influenced by what F.A. wore, rather than what he drove, with a mix of Truffle Brown Club leather, and F.A Grid-Weave fabric woven from Black, Green, Truffle Brown, Cream and Bordeaux Red yarns. “My father’s favourite jackets were patterned like this. Like his pencil, pipe and ashtray, these jackets felt like part of my childhood and inextricably linked to his office at home,” says Mark Porsche, who’s set to take delivery of the first of the 90 cars. The same materials feature in a travel bag that will be supplied with each vehicle.

Other interior delights include an open-pore walnut plywood gear shifter, and a gold-plated commemorative plaque on the dashboard. Every buyer will also receive a Porsche Design Chronograph 1, which is available with either a titanium strap, or a leather one to match the car’s cabin.
Porsche will open the order books in April 2026, with production starting in the fall, after buyers have finalized any further personalization.
