Emily Blunt and John Krasinski do not take the same approach on set.

A source tells the National Enquirer that “when it comes to his business as a filmmaker,” The Office alum, 46, “plays hardball” as he wants “control over his projects and their budgets.”

“This isn’t Emily’s style, not in the slightest, and that’s why she’s struck up this really deep friendship with Dwayne Johnson,” the source points out as the two actors recently worked together on the sports drama The Smashing Machine as well as the 2021 Disney flick, Jungle Cruise.

The source further explains the British actress, 42, and the Jumanji star, 53, treat everyone on the crew, “like an equal,” regardless of their rank, and “both have a very fun, positive energy in general,” noting Krasinski “lacks that.”

“This next movie Emily and John are making together, A Quiet Place Part III, is going to be a big test,” the source reveals.

The source shares that while the Jack Ryan actor is “very focused on the money side of things,” the Mary Poppins Returns actress “just wants a great experience, for her, for her team and for everybody working on the film.”

“Just because she and John are married doesn’t mean she endorses his methods and his tough-guy approach toward making movies,” the source adds. “Everybody who knows them sees how different their approach to work is.”

Blunt and Krasinski tied the knot in 2010 and share daughters Hazel, 11, and Violet, 9.
