Seven hospitals in New Jersey have received the Leapfrog Group’s “Top Hospital Award” for excellence in patient safety and quality of care.
The national watchdog organization announced the recipients of its prestigious award on Monday at the 2025 Leapfrog Annual Meeting and Awards Dinner. A total of 156 hospitals in the United States earned the 2025 Top Hospital Award, including:
15 children’s hospitals52 general hospitals16 rural hospitals73 teaching hospitals
This year, four New Jersey teaching hospitals and three general hospitals made the cut.
The award is given to the highest-performing hospitals on the Leapfrog Hospital Survey. To be eligible, each recipient must have received an “A” in the most recent round of scoring.

According to Leapfrog, Top Hospitals have better systems in place to prevent medication errors, higher quality maternity care and lower infection rates.
