New York City mayoral candidate and self-identified supporter of Israel, Andrew Cuomo, called for an immediate end to the war in Gaza, which he described as “horrific.” In an interview with The New York Times, Cuomo, who previously served as New York governor and is trailing in polls behind anti-Israel candidate Zohran Mamdani, clarified that “I never stood with Bibi” – despite previously joining the legal team that defended him at the International Criminal Court in The Hague (ICC). Nevertheless, Cuomo criticized Mamdani for his declaration that he would try to arrest Netanyahu if he visited the city.
