There were more first-timers joining Chase Infiniti at the Golden Globes Celebrating the 2026 First-Time Golden Globes Nominees, held at the Maybourne Beverly Hills on Wednesday.

Concept Over Convention

Eva Victor, nominated for Sorry, Baby, may still be flying under the mainstream radar, but on the red carpet, she’s carving out a lane of her own. Her Chelsea Mak Tabea metallic silver dress leaned into a cerebral, fashion-forward space that immediately set her apart from the sea of predictable choices. It’s not about glamour in the traditional sense — it’s about perspective. As Jessie Buckley has switched to the minimalism lane, Eva feels like a potential wildcard this awards season.

Summer, Anywhere

The Smashing Machine nominee Dwyane Johnson’s style streak continues, and at this point, only Colman Domingo is giving him serious competition. His Dolce & Gabbana white suit came with a simple, joyful philosophy — “it’s summer somewhere” — and honestly, why argue with that? Crisp tailoring, and white shoes proving that white-on-one works. I always knew it would.

Vanilla

F1: The Movie nominee Damson Idris followed a similar train of thought in a tailored cream suit that felt relaxed yet considered. The taupe accessories worked well, though I would’ve loved a lighter shoe to keep the palette fully lifted. Still, this was an easy win – despite the creases. But I’m going to be expecting a lot from him this awards-season.

Almost There

Britt Lower, recognised for her work on Severance, opted for a Calvin Klein Collection Spring 2026 look had the bones of something great, but the execution didn’t quite land. Lose the scarf — or at least tie it loosely — and hem the trousers, and this would’ve felt far more assured. Small tweaks would make a biggest difference.

Shirts Take the Lead

Does this season have a quiet theme emerging: the elevated shirt? Severance nominee Tramell Tillman’s custom AMI Paris look in navy and white stripes, paired with a white crepe marocain scarf shirt, leaned into that idea beautifully.

Luncheon Florals Done Right

Nothing says “luncheon” quite like a floral dress, and Rhea Seehorn, nominated for Pluribus, delivered exactly that in an Oscar de la Renta ombré cherry blossom jersey design. Soft, elegant, and perfectly suited to the daytime setting, this was a look that understood the assignment. Beige Sarah Flint sandal heels finished it off neatly.

One to Watch

Wagner Moura is firmly on my radar this season. The The Secret Agent actor stepped out in a Fendi suit that balanced classic tailoring with an ease that felt natural rather than studied. It’s the kind of look that doesn’t scream for attention but quietly signals confidence — and that’s often the most effective approach.
