Producer and Israel Prize laureate Moshe Edry announced that candidates who withdrew from the Ministry of Culture’s film awards ceremony have returned their nominations. A statement from the withdrawing nominees stated they have reversed their decision: “Out of genuine concern for the future of Israeli cinema and after discussions with producer Moshe Edry, who promised us that he is personally working with the Minister of Culture to secure budgets for 2025 and 2026, continue funding for guilds and the academy, and further strengthen the Cinema Law in Israel, we decided to respond to Mr. Edry’s appeals and return to the nominations we withdrew and to the Ministry of Culture’s film awards ceremony.”
