The new horror movie Whistle provides a closer look at Marvel star Dafne Keen. She stars in the movie alongside Sophie Nélisse, who plays the teenage Shauna Shipman in Yellowjackets. Keen and Nélisse’s characters, Chrys and Ellie, are high school students who encounter an Aztec death whistle, which summons one’s future death when blown.

ScreenRant’s 2026 movie preview now presents an exclusive image from Whistle. It features Chrys standing outside at night and wearing a jacket, with half of her face bathed in a purple light. Check out the image below:

Whistle debuted at Fantastic Fest 2025 and has seven reviews so far on Rotten Tomatoes, five of which are “Fresh.” It will come to U.S. theaters on February 6.

Keen and Nélisse’s fellow cast members include Nick Frost, Wednesday star Percy Hynes White, Sky Yang, Jhaleil Swaby, and Ali Skovbye. The horror film is directed by Corin Hardy and written by Owen Egerton.

Whistle comes in the aftermath of several major Dafne Keen movies and shows, from reprising her role as Laura/X-23 in Deadpool & Wolverine to making her Star Wars debut as Jedi Padawan Jecki Lon in The Acolyte. Keen first played Laura/X-23 in Logan and portrayed Lyra Belacqua in all three seasons of HBO’s critically acclaimed fantasy series His Dark Materials.

Along with Whistle, Keen has been cast as an important character for the future of Percy Jackson and the Olympians. She will make her series debut as Artemis, Greek goddess of the hunt, in season 3. The third season is still in the process of filming as season 2 drops new episodes weekly on Disney+.

As for Nélisse, she will play the role of Shauna for a final time in Yellowjackets season 4, which is confirmed to be the last season of the hit show. More recently, she appeared in multiple episodes of HBO’s hockey romance series Heated Rivalry, which has quickly proven to be vastly popular.

When Keen and Nélisse’s Whistle comes to theaters in February 2026, it will help kick off a major year for horror movies. The year’s horror releases also include We Bury the Dead, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, Return to Silent Hill, Send Help, Scream 7, Ready Or Not 2: Here I Come, Evil Dead Burn, Resident Evil, Terrifier 4, and Werwulf.
