Beta software is inherently unpredictable, often introducing bugs and breaking app compatibility along the way. Samsung’s One UI 8.5 Beta 2 is a clear example. The latest build has broken support for Expert RAW and continues to leave some Good Lock modules unsupported. Samsung has now shared an updated Good Lock status report, but little has changed since the first beta.

Some Good Lock modules still don’t work on One UI 8.5 Beta 2

Good Lock modules work by hooking deeply into system-level UI components. This is exactly why they’re so powerful, and also why they’re vulnerable during major One UI revisions. Each new version forces Samsung’s developers to rework these modules to match updated frameworks, layouts, and system behaviors.

Shortly after rolling out One UI 8.5 Beta, the company revealed that some Good Lock modules don’t work on the beta software. With the second beta now rolling out, many users were hoping to see quick fixes, but for now, the situation remains unchanged. Two key modules remain fully unsupported in the current beta builds:

Home Up – used for advanced home screen customization, including grid layouts, folder styles, and expanded share-sheet controls
QuickStar – focused on status bar tweaks and quick access shortcuts

Both modules are currently non-functional on One UI 8.5 Beta 2, and their status has not changed since the initial beta release. Additionally, LockStar and NotiStar still don’t operate at full capacity. Unlike Home Up and QuickStar, these two modules do launch and function on Beta 2, but users may encounter missing features or inconsistent behavior.

The company says these apps require further optimization to align with One UI 8.5’s revised system structure and refreshed design framework. In other words, they’re usable for now, but not yet fully polished. The good news is that all other Good Lock modules are working as expected on Beta 2. For most users, this means the bulk of Good Lock’s customization features remain intact, even this early in the beta cycle.
