QUINCY — Mark Khil, MD, board certified radiation oncologist and medical director of the Blessing Cancer Center’s Radiation Oncology department, will retire on Wednesday, Dec. 31, after 24 years of providing care at Blessing.
In a press release, Dr. Khil said, “I look back on these years not simply as a career, but as a calling fulfilled — to provide hope, healing and the highest standard of care to those entrusted to us. My professional mission has been centered on providing compassionate, evidence-based and patient-focused cancer care — integrating the best of modern technology with the timeless values of empathy and human connection.”
A graduate of Seoul National University College of Medicine in Korea, Dr. Khil completed an internship, residency and fellowship at the State University of New York Health Science Center. He was an essential member of the team that led the Blessing Cancer Center and its radiation oncology department to national certifications.
“I have witnessed and participated in remarkable advancements in the field of radiation oncology. Working alongside the outstanding administration and medical leadership at Blessing Health System has enabled us to continually grow and refine our clinical practice, ensuring that our community receives cancer care comparable to the finest centers in the nation. Blessing Health System stands as a beacon of integrity, compassion and innovation in healthcare.”

With Dr. Schweitzer as his role model, Dr. Khil focused on cancer care.
“Cancer remains one of the most devastating and challenging diseases to cure. The complexity of its treatment and the profound impact it has on patients and their families deeply moved me”
Dr. Khil was also moved by each team member with whom he worked at Blessing over the past 24 years.
“The dedicated and talented staff make excellence possible every day. Each of them has contributed immeasurably to the success of our cancer program and to the healing of countless individuals and families.”
