CORVALLIS – The Oregon State men’s basketball team came up with a big bounce-back win, taking down San Francisco 70-62 Tuesday evening at Gill Coliseum.
 
Dez White filled the stat-sheet, going for 11 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Isaiah Sy led the Beavers with 18 points and six rebounds, going 5-for-8 from the floor. Josiah Lake II rounded out a trio of Beavers in double-figures, ending his day with 14 points, all in the second half. The point guard went 4-for-4 from 3-point range.
 
Olavi Suutela scored nine points including a big basket and a pair of free throws late in the game. As a team, Oregon State shot 50 percent from the floor and went 13-for-14 from the stripe. The Beavers out-rebounded the Dons 17-9 in the second half.
 
David Fuchs led USF with 19 points and 13 rebounds.
 
San Francisco scored the first four points of the game, but the Beavers answered with back-to-back Sy 3-pointers to take an early lead. Oregon State extended it to a 16-0 run to take a double-digit advantage seven minutes into the contest. Overall, OSU held the Dons scoreless for a stretch of over seven minutes.
 
The Dons battled back with 14 unanswered points to take the lead at 23-21 with four minutes left in the opening frame. San Francisco led 30-25 at the break. Sy went 3-for-4 from 3-point range to head to the locker room with nine points.
 
Oregon State leveled the score early in the second half, and the teams traded punches from there before the Beavers scored six-straight points to open up a four-point lead midway through the second half. OSU never relented from there, leading by as many as eight on its way to an eight-point win.
 
The Beavers will hit the road Friday to take on Pacific in Stockton, Calif.
