The 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is set to make its broadcast television debut tonight, Thursday, January 1st, at 8/7c on ABC.
The star-studded ceremony, which originally took place on November 8th at Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater and streamed live on Disney+, honored inductees across multiple categories, including Cyndi Lauper, OutKast, Bad Company, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Soundgarden, and The White Stripes. Salt-N-Pepa and Warren Zevon received the Musical Influence Award, while Thom Bell, Nicky Hopkins, and Carol Kaye were honored with the Musical Excellence Award, and Lenny Waronker received the Ahmet Ertegun Award.
“Each of these inductees created their own sound and attitude that had a profound impact on culture and helped to change the course of Rock & Roll forever,” said John Sykes, chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. “Their music gave a voice to generations and influenced countless artists that followed in their footsteps.”
The broadcast will feature performances and presentations from an impressive lineup including Beck, Brandi Carlile, David Letterman, Doja Cat, Elton John, Iggy Pop, Missy Elliott, Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Momsen, Twenty One Pilots, and many more. A particular highlight includes Tedeschi Trucks Band leading an emotional all-star tribute to Joe Cocker with performances of “The Letter”, “Feelin’ Alright”, and “With a Little Help From My Friends”.
