From finally seeing the highly anticipated Jeju Island Arc animated in Season 2 to the recent announcement of a live-action adaptation, 2025 has been a great year for Solo Leveling fans. The franchise has continued to spread its wings, leaving fans wanting even more.
And yet, Solo Leveling’s anime has yet to officially confirm Season 3 and whether it’s coming at all. That said, just when fans were beginning to lose hope, one of the anime’s producers just dropped a very promising update.

Atsushi Kaneko, the producer of Solo Leveling’s anime, recently dropped a new update via his official X handle. Besides wishing his followers and fans a happy new year, Kaneko also alluded to an exciting year ahead for Solo Leveling, hinting specifically at something “truly exciting” happening for Solo Leveling fans.
It’s unclear what exactly this exciting event taking place in 2026 could be, but it seems like fans will find out soon enough, as Kaneko also apologized for the delay and asked fans just to wait “a little longer.” Kaneko’s post reads:
And this year… something truly exciting might happen for “SL fans”!! I’m sorry, but please please wait just a little longer…!!!”
Interestingly, Kaneko previously teased some “happy news” back in April 2025, but fans never quite learned what exactly he was referring to. That said, it’s possible this latest post is related to the same good news, and fans will finally be learning what it is.
Given that it’s been a whole year since Season 2 was released, fans can only hope that this exciting update is related to Season 3, though for now, there are numerous other possibilities.
What Could Solo Leveling’s Next Big Announcement Be?

Besides the confirmation about Season 3, Solo Leveling’s big, exciting update could also be a film adaptation. Rumors of Solo Leveling’s next installment being a movie have been going around ever since a financial report on D&C Media surfaced a few months prior.
Aiming for Demon Slayer’s level of theatrical success makes sense as the next step for the franchise, which has continued to prove itself in every way. It also perfectly makes sense for the anime’s producer to be hyping the announcement of a movie rather than anything related to the games or the recently announced live-action.
All that said, the delay surrounding Season 3 of Solo Leveling has been incredibly frustrating, making Kaneko’s recent message a much-needed ray of hope. However, until the announcement comes, fans can only sit by and wait in anticipation.
