History

CONWAY — Coastal Carolina women’s basketball (7-9, 0-4) fell to Georgia Southern (10-4, 3-1) 60-50 on Saturday at the HTC Center. The Chanticleers dropped to 0-4 in conference play with the loss. 

GAME RECAP

After falling behind 20-10 following the first quarter, Coastal found their groove by outscoring the Eaglers 15-7 in the second and trailed by just two points at the half.  The Chants tied it at 33 with a Kristin Williams three-pointer in the third quarter but would fail to take the lead as the Eagles took the 60-50 victory. 

COASTAL LEADERS

Williams put up 15 points off four three-pointers and three free throws to lead the team. Tracey Hueston added 12 points to go along with six rebounds.  As a team, Coastal shot 30-percent from the field and 33-percent from long-range while making 10 of 15 free throw attempts.

Coastal travels to Appalachian State on Wednesday, Jan. 7. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. on ESPN+.
