The Punjab Education Department has reportedly introduced new standard operating procedures (SOPs) to streamline Leave Preparatory to Retirement (LPR) cases for teachers, 24News reported.

Under the revised system, officials will no longer accept incomplete LPR cases. Every application must now include a complete checklist.

According to the new instructions, all supporting documents must be formally verified by the District Education Officer (DEO) or the concerned Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Officers have also been told to provide clear and specific recommendations.

The report adds that any LPR case missing required documents will be returned without review.

Teachers applying for LPR must attach their service book, appointment orders, promotion notifications, salary slips, and a complete record of leave taken throughout their career.

The department has also clarified that district officers will now be held accountable for any delay in handling LPR cases.
