The iQOO 15 was photographed in the wild last week and the photo showed that the back is painted with some sort of pink and gray swirl. It turns out that a still photo doesn’t do the phone’s coloring justice – here it is on video.
We’ve seen color-changing backs before, but this one is probably the fastest and most dramatic change yet. It depends on the viewing angle and goes from an all-gray to that pinkish color appearing.
The iQOO 15 will probably be unveiled later this month, it’s just waiting for the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 to go official – that will happen a bit earlier this year as Qualcomm’s annual summit is scheduled for September 23-25. The iQOO number series phones are, of course, long-time connoisseurs of Qualcomm’s flagship chipsets.
There are no official details yet, but rumor has it that the phone will be equipped with a flat 6.85” QHD OLED display, a Samsung panel capable of going as high as 6,000 nits and as low as 1 nit. We expect to see a high refresh rate too and there will be an ultrasonic fingerprint reader.
Vivo’s new OriginOS 6 will allegedly debut with the iQOO 15. The phone will have a massive battery (between 7,000mAh and 8,000mAh capacity) with 100W fast charging.
The cameras will feature a 50MP main with a 1/1.5” sensor and a 50MP telephoto with a periscope lens – this suggests a longer focal length (the iQOO 13 had a 2x lens). There should be an ultra-wide too and we wouldn’t be surprised to see it also be a 50MP unit (as it was in the past couple of generations).
P.S. there’s a mini model coming too!
