For someone like me, who could spend all day in an art museum, I was surprised by how many paintings I recognized but couldn’t name the title or the artist behind them. In our modern world, paintings truly feel like a lost art form. Not so long ago, rooms were filled with them — hell, even the walls and ceilings of important buildings showcased breathtaking artwork (hello, Sistine Chapel). Now, we have chrome table legs, glass walls, and marble slab boxes that we call bathrooms. Sigh.
