Josh Charles might have had some bad blood with Travis Kelce once upon a time, but he made sure fans know that the two are on good terms now.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show on Monday, January 5, host Jimmy Fallon told Charles, 54, that Ethan Hawke revealed in an interview that the Dead Poets Society actor “once got into a fight with Travis Kelce.”

“A fight? He exaggerated this,” Charles explained. “It wasn’t a fight. I’ve always liked Travis Kelce and I just thought he was so cool. But that year that they beat the [Baltimore] Ravens in the AFC championship game, he was a real jerk that year. So, I kind of fell off of him.”

“So, when I met him, I was like, ‘You know, I’ve always liked you, but this year you were kind of a d**k,” the Baltimore native continued.

Fallon, 51, was hilariously horrified that Charles had the nerve to say that to the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, but the Best Medicine star assured him that Kelce laughed at the comment.

“I said, ‘What was up with that?’ and he laughed,” Charles added. “He goes, ‘You know what? You’re right and I’m going to tell you why. It’s because we marked down that game against your team and if we could win that game – we were most worried about that game – and I know I had to come in with some swagger.’”

Charles gave him credit for getting the Ravens riled up and said that Kelce managed to get “one of our veterans to commit a personal foul” and that he “got in our heads.” He also admitted that Kelce’s plan worked because the Chiefs took home the win.

Charles made sure to clarify that he’s actually a huge fan of Kelce and told Fallon that he was “such a good dude,” adding, “I like him. I like him a lot.”
