The Beekeeper 2‘s release window has been revealed, along with the first look at the Jason Statham sequel. The upcoming action thriller serves as a sequel to The Beekeeper (2024), directed by David Ayer, with Timo Tjahjanto taking over as director alongside Statham reprising his role as Adam Clay, a highly skilled assassin known as The Beekeeper.
Now, on Instagram, director Timo Tjahjanto shared a photo of himself and Jason Statham behind the scenes of The Beekeeper 2 and confirmed that it will be released in 2026. The photo, captioned, “2026 .. Year of the BEEKEEPER . #TheBeekeeper2,” can be seen below:
Directed by David Ayer, with a script written by Kurt Wimmer, The Beekeeper stars Jason Statham as a retired government assassin who sets out for revenge after his kind-hearted landlady falls victim to a phishing scam. The Beekeeper cast also includes Emmy Raver-Lampman, Josh Hutcherson, Bobby Naderi, Minnie Driver, Phylicia Rashad, and Jeremy Irons.
The Beekeeper is streaming on Prime Video.
The Beekeeper received mostly positive reviews from critics for being lightheartedly straightforward and pleasantly old-school, showing that Statham still packs a punch when it comes to delivering action-thriller justice. Audiences also loved the film for being brisk and action-packed, giving Statham fans exactly what they want.
The Beekeeper has a 71% score on Rotten Tomatoes from critics, coupled with a 91% audience score.
Released in theaters in January 2024, The Beekeeper was a box office success that made $162.6 million worldwide against its $40 million budget, and a sequel was officially announced in February 2025.
Directed by Timo Tjahjanto, with a script written by Umair Aleem, The Beekeeper 2 cast also includes Emmy Raver-Lampman, Bobby Naderi, Jemma Redgrave, and Jeremy Irons reprising their roles, with Yara Shahidi, Pom Klementieff and Adam Copeland joining the sequel.
The sequel started filming in September 2025 and wrapped the following November. While an exact release date for The Beekeeper 2 has yet to be announced, it will be coming sometime in 2026.
