Daniel Dadoun, an Israeli who previously lived in the US and now resides in Israel, was sentenced to 41 months in prison in New Jersey after admitting to fraudulently obtaining more than $3.2 million from the federal aid program for small businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic. The US Department of Justice announced that the 49-year-old submitted false loan applications for his New Jersey businesses between 2020 and 2022, including false statements about the number of employees and payroll expenses, and also submitted forged documents in debt forgiveness applications. He was additionally sentenced to three years of supervision and restitution.
