Meg Ryan feels the need — the need to reunite with Tom Cruise, according to a source.
Four decades after getting her big break in Top Gun, the rom-com queen, 64, “would jump at the chance to work with Tom again,” the source tells the National Enquirer. “She’s a huge fan of his and always assumed they’d do another project together at some point.”
But friends seem convinced the actor, 63, would make an ideal real-life leading man for Ryan, too!

“A lot of people in their worlds think they’d make a great couple. The respect and admiration is there, and Meg is definitely sweet on Tom and vice versa,” shares the source. “It’s a no-brainer.”
As the Enquirer previously reported, the Mission: Impossible star is ready to date again after a failed relationship with Ana de Armas in 2025.
Meanwhile, the Sleepless in Seattle alum called off her engagement to John Mellencamp in 2019 — and she hasn’t been linked to anyone else since then.
“Both of them have had some serious bad luck, romance-wise,” acknowledges the source. “If one of them would pick up the phone and make the first move, though, Tom and Meg might finally find what they’re looking for in each other.”

No matter what, says the source, the divorcées — Cruise was previously wed to Mimi Rogers, Nicole Kidman and Katie Holmes, while Ryan once called Dennis Quaid her husband — will always share a unique bond.
“Tom isn’t everyone’s cup of tea in Hollywood,” notes the source. “But as strange as he can sometimes come across, Meg gets him.”
