Samsung users could soon get a more personal way to show up when calling when friends and family. Google is testing a new feature in its Phone app that lets users customize how their own calling screen appears on other people’s phones, similar to Apple’s Contact Posters.

Right now, Android’s Calling Cards only let you customize how incoming callers appear on your device. You can tweak photos, fonts, and colors for your contacts. But you can’t control how your own caller screen looks when you call someone else. That missing has made the feature feel incomplete since launch. But anymore.

Google Phone app could soon add a “My calling card” feature

Folks over at Android Authority spotted that Google is now working on a new option called “My calling card” in the Phone by Google app. The feature has been spotted active in a recent beta version.

Once available, users will be able to create their own Calling Card from the app’s settings. You can choose a photo from your gallery or Google Photos, customize fonts and colors, preview the design, and decide who gets to see it. Google also gives users the option to limit visibility to contacts only or allow it to appear for anyone they call.

There are some limitations. If the person you are calling has already customized your Calling Card on their phone, their version will take priority. If they have not made any changes, your personal card should appear instead. Google also warns that images may be cropped differently depending on the screen size of the receiving phone.

For Galaxy users, this could arrive through an app update rather than a full software upgrade, since many Samsung phones rely on the Google Phone app for calling features. If rolled out broadly, this would finally give Galaxy devices a more polished and personalized calling experience.
