The Israel Ministry of Health reports a healthy two-month-old child, a resident of northern Israel, has died of influenza, or the flu.

This is the sixth case this year of a child dying of the flu reported to the Ministry.

The Ministry of Health recommends that the entire population continue to be vaccinated as soon as possible. Although vaccination is not possible at this age, vaccination of people in the environment who come into contact with them provides some protection, and therefore it is important to vaccinate the entire population.

The Ministry emphasizes that although the flu vaccine does not completely prevent illness, it reduces the severity in most cases.
