Knesset Legal Adviser Sagit Afek has demanded that the government provide full details of funds transferred by the government over the past five years, after a High Court hearing last week revealed that nearly one billion shekels were transferred to ultra-Orthodox education without the Finance Committee’s approval. The state representative claimed during the hearing that this was an “accepted practice,” which led Legal Adviser Afek to issue the letter with the demand.
