BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Coming off a standout week of action versus Bucknell and Lafayette, Navy freshman Zoe Mesuch was announced as the Patriot League Rookie of the Week on Monday. The high-scoring guard from Clintondale, New York helped the Mids to a 2-0 week with substantial road victories over the Bison and Leopards to improve to 3-1 in Patriot League play this season. This is the third PL Rookie of the Week honor of Mesuch’s young career as she was previously selected on Nov. 17 and Dec. 22 for her prowess.
Mesuch played a pivotal role in Navy’s 2-0 week, in which the Mids handily defeated the Bucknell Bison by 26 points and the Lafayette Leopards by 39 points. On Wednesday at Bucknell, the freshman guard shot 42 percent (5-12) with three three-pointers on her way to a 15-point outing. Additionally, she had three steals and two assists against the Bison. On Saturday at Lafayette, Mesuch set new career-highs with 22 points, six three-pointers and eight assists on a 50 percent (7-14) shooting effort. Navy’s 97-point output against Lafayette is a program record versus a DI opponent. For the week, she led the Mids with 18.5 points and 4.5 three-pointers per game, while assisting on 5.0 field goals.
Over 15 games in 2025-26, Mesuch is second on Navy’s team with a scoring average of 12.1 points per game, while knocking down 39 three-pointers. Her average of 2.6 made three-pointers per game is second in the Patriot League and 51st nationally among all DI players.
Mesuch and the Mids continue early season Patriot League with a home matchup versus American University on Wednesday, Jan. 14. Tip-off at Alumni Hall is set for 7 p.m.
