Anastasiia Metelkina and Luka Berulava are dreaming of landing their first senior international title after topping the standings in the pairs short program at the ISU Figure Skating European Championships on Wednesday (14 January).
The Georgian duo scored 75.96 to lead the way ahead of Thursday’s free skate, as defending champions Minerva Fabienne Hase and Nikita Volodin of Germany placed second with 74.81.
Hungarian pair Maria Pavlova and Alexei Sviatchenko sit third at the halfway stage, while Anastasia Vaipan-Law and Luke Digby produced the fifth-best short program in front of their home British crowd in Sheffield.
