Are the Arianators all ready to get in touch with their inner Sondheim? Wicked co-stars Ariana Grande and Jonathan Bailey confirmed rumors that they will play George and Dot in an upcoming West End revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park With George. Bailey and Grande both posted a photo of them together in front of the Georges Seurat painting A Sunday on La Grande Jatte with the caption, “All it has to be is good.” The musical follows a fictionalized version of Seurat as he paints A Sunday, and the caption is a line from the song “Move On.” Bailey will play George and Grande will play his lover, Dot, who understands George but whom he ignores for his art.
The production will be premiering at the Barbican Centre in London. It will be directed by Marianne Elliott, who is known for directing the gender-swapped revival of Company, which Bailey won an Olivier Award for on the West End. Arianators with PTSD from trying to get tickets for her 2026 tour have until May 2026 to figure out how they’re going to secure ones for this. This will be Grande’s first time acting onstage since her Broadway debut in the musical 13 back in 2008. We see a brand-new you, Ariana!
