Ed Sheerandoesn’t mess around when it comes to late-night musical performances.
Before appearing as the musical guest on the Wednesday, Jan. 14 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Sheeran brought in some fellow music mega-stars to join him for the performance, leaving fans chomping at the bit to see what plans the group of musicians has up their sleeves.
The official Instagram account for Kimmel’s late-night show teased the performance with a photo on Wednesday, featuring Sheeran standing with Foo Fighter’s frontman Dave Grohl and John Mayer, as well as Rami Jaffee, another member of the Foo Fighters, and bassist Pino Palladino, who plays in the John Mayer Trio.

The backstage photo also featured renowned producer Blake Slatkin, as well as Kimmel, of course.
“Ed Sheeran has assembled quite a band for his performance tonight! 🤩” the Instagram post teased, while fans flocked to the comments to react to the unexpected collab.
“Omg omg omg! Love this! I cannot wait to tune in! 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼” one fan rejoiced under the Instagram post, while another exclaimed, “How awesome! Cannot wait!!”

“Holy smokes 🤯 who has the sound board plug in?” another comment read, while more fans called the group photo “Soooooo good” and “Epic! 🔥🔥🔥”
“Cannot wait,” one fan added of the highly-anticipated performance.
Sheeran and his band of assembled music icons are expected to take the stage on Kimmel’s show on Wednesday, Jan. 14. Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET.
