Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has decided to appoint MK Israel Eichler of United Torah Judaism as Deputy Minister of Communications, and as part of this move, MK Yitzhak Pindrus will re-enter the Knesset. This effectively dismantles the ultra-Orthodox resistance to the conscription exemption law. Last week, ynet revealed that officials from the Prime Minister’s circle approached Agudat Yisrael representatives, affiliated with the Belz Hasidic sect, in an attempt to strengthen the moderate axis.
