The official Star Search trailer is here, PEOPLE can exclusively reveal.
Netflix’s revival of the iconic series premieres on Tuesday, Jan. 20, kicking off the live five-week-long event.
“Star Search, the greatest talent competition ever is back,” host Anthony Anderson says in the new trailer.
“And the world’s next superstar is waiting to be crowned,” judges Jelly Roll, Chrissy Teigen and Sarah Michelle Gellar say.
“We’re talking dancers, musicians, singers, magicians, comedians and more,” Teigen teases, noting that “the most important judge is you.”

Each week, the viewers will get to vote for their top picks in real time using their TV remote or the Netflix app.
“The world’s greatest talent on the biggest stage…” Gellar says. “All leading to one live finale,” Jelly Roll continues.
Anderson concludes: “But remember, the superstar cannot be crowned without you. Whose star will rise? You help decide.”
New episodes of Star Search will air on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET with votes coming in as each episode unfolds live. The finale takes place on Tuesday, Feb. 17.
“The talent is bigger, the stakes are higher and the format is more interactive than ever,” reads the show’s official logline. “Each episode will spotlight the best up-and-coming performers across numerous categories — music, dance, variety, comedy, magic and juniors — as they compete head to head for their shot at stardom.”
The statement continues, “With an arced competition structure and weekly eliminations with real-time global voting, the series builds dramatic momentum, making every live episode an unmissable event.”

The original Star Search made its debut in 1983 and ran until 1995, followed by a brief return from 2003 until 2004. During its run, it showcased major names including Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Dave Chappelle and Adam Sandler before they became the superstars they are today.
“The show that launched the greatest stars of our time is back,” Anderson said in a teaser for the upcoming revival earlier this month. “The next great star will be discovered.”
