Three cases of bird flu has been detected in wildfowl in Bedford.

Bedford Borough Council said avian influenza had been found in one swan and one goose on the town’s embankment and one bird at Priory Park by the Department for Environment, Food, and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).

Public information posters have been put up in areas where the infected birds were found.

It has advised people to keep to the footpaths, to keep dogs on leads and to not touch or pick up any sick or dead birds.
