It’s just over one month until the release of The Night Agent Season 3, but the show is already picking up steam on streaming as its return draws near. At the time of writing, The Night Agent has surged back into the Netflix global top 10 in several countries around the world before the Season 2 premiere on February 19. The show was previously set to launch at the end of January, but Netflix announced last year that it had been moved back to February. This announcement also came with the first official trailer for The Night Agent Season 3.
The Night Agent has been hailed as Netflix’s answer to Reacher, and while there are some similarities, the shows are still quite different. Reacher star Alan Ritchson boasts a much more physically imposing stature, but that doesn’t mean The Night Agent’s Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso) isn’t dangerous in his own right. Both shows are gripping conspiracy thrillers with intense action that feature government operatives — a former operative in Reacher’s case — but fans of one are almost guaranteed to enjoy the other. The first three seasons of Reacher are now streaming on Prime Video, and the first two seasons of The Night Agent are available on Netflix.
The Night Agent stars Basso, who also recently featured in one of the biggest movies of 2025 for Netflix. Basso stars alongside Rebecca Ferguson and Idris Elba in A House of Dynamite, the electric political thriller from director Kathryn Bigelow. Basso was also seen as Gregory in The Stranger: Chapter 2, and he will return to the role in The Strangers: Chapter 3, which will be released in theaters on February 6.
What Else Is Streaming on Netflix Right Now?
Before The Night Agent Season 3 hits screens next month, Jon Bernthal and Tessa Thompson’s new thriller series, His & Hers, is sitting unchallenged on Netflix streaming charts. The Rookie, ABC’s flagship procedural that just recently shifted release days for the remainder of its eighth season, has also crept into the Netflix top 10 in the last few days. The most popular movie on Netflix right now is The People We Meet on Vacation, which stars Tom Blyth and Emily Bader. Taylor Sheridan’s hated Western thriller, Sicario: Day of the Soldado, is also #8 on Netflix charts at the time of writing.
